Carla Taylor-Brown
Who Is Carla
I was born in Regina and raised on a small grain and cattle farm near Ituna, Saskatchewan. After graduation, I attended the University of Regina. I have lived in Subdivision 2 for most of my adult life, settling in my current home in Hillsdale in 2012. I am married to Brad, and we have four children in their 20s and one grandson. All our kids graduated from high school here. I retired from full-time work in 2022
Why She Is Running
Our school division has faced significant challenges in the last few years. Parents want greater participation in their children’s education and students want to be free of conflict between home and school. Teachers want to teach their subject matter in classrooms of manageable size and communities want graduates whose schooling has equipped them to succeed in a complicated world. I am running for Trustee because I believe our School Board can and should deliver on these imperatives. I will work collaboratively to address classroom complexity, improve student achievement, respect parental rights, and focus on education not activism to prepare our students for bright futures.
