Elon Musk says doctors pressured him into allowing his son the transition

Elon Musk claims that he was deceived by doctors and mental health professionals into permitting his son to take puberty blockers. Mr. Musk asserts that this is the reason he opposes woke ideology.

What does it mean?

Elon Musk gave an interview with the well-known Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson, during which Mr. Musk recounted how his son Xavier was drawn into gender transition at a young age. Mr. Musk stated that he was informed that if he did not consent to his child receiving “gender-affirming care” (a euphemism for puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones), his son would commit suicide. Musk narrates the story as follows: “Well, it happened to one of my older boys. I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier. This was really before I had any understanding of what was going on, and we had COVID happening, so there was a lot of confusion. And I was told Xavier might commit suicide.”

In that same interview, Mr. Musk pointed out that “You’re taking kids who are far below the age of consent. It’s very possible for adults to manipulate children who are experiencing an actual identity crisis into believing that they are the wrong gender.” Musk went on to declare that this event motivated him to begin fighting the “Woke Mind Virus.” This is likely part of the reason why Mr. Musk purchased the X social media platform (formerly called Twitter) and has been involved in significant social and political activism over the past two years.
